Media Used: ZBrush 2 and Max 6 for modeling - Rendered in ZBrush 2

This study was an experiment trying to combine Max and ZBrush more in my workflow. I've been obsessing a bit in ZBrush lately and neglecting Max. I wanted to dust off my box modeling skills in Max before they got too rusty.

I started by blocking out the model in ZBrush 2 with ZSpheres, then exported the low-rez adaptive mesh into Max 6 to cut some more details and reorder some of the edgeflows. ZBrush 2 is real nice but it doesn't have Max's strengths for that sort of thing. I've been trying to avoid doing that for awhile so I would be forced to learn how to do more in ZBrush 2 alone. Now that I've got a good handle on ZBrush I'd like to do some hybrid projects. This experiment showed me some neat possibilities for working back and forth between the two programs that I'd like to explore further in my next projects. The modeling for this one is about 50/50 between each program.

The toes were left undone on purpose. I've started experimenting with some armor and clothing for this figure and since he'll be wearing boots I didn't see any reason to include toes.
